“Cooking School” Date Night

Plan a culinary date for a nice dinner at home! Fix a date bag full of recipes ideas and date plan. Includes recipe links and a printable. realmarriedlife.com Here is a fun idea for the couple who wants to bring the Food Network home: plan a cooking school date for your own kitchen.    Let’s get cooking!

Date Preparation

  1. Pick a few varying recipes on your level of difficulty, preferably something special that takes a little more time.  Print them off and put them in a gift bag.
  2. Add a sweet note explaining the date.  Mine had lines mimicking Iron Chef America, which is Ben’s favorite cooking show.
  3. Print this cover to attach to the gift bag, then present it to them the night before.
  4. Spend time picking a recipe together, then making the shopping list for tomorrow.  You may also want to prep the kitchen for two cooks.  Remember, this is supposed to be fun!  I brought an extra card table into our small kitchen to add counter space so I could bake dessert while Ben cooked dinner.

Enjoy Date Night!  Go shopping, cook your dinner, set the table, and enjoy wonderful company at home.

Here are some great recipes I recommend trying on your date night:

Emeril Lagasse’s Spaghetti and Meatballs

Bobby Flay’s Grilled Chicken Breast Stuffed with Goat Cheese with Smoked Chile Cilantro Sauce – This was our date night meal.  LOVED it!

Emeril Lagasse’s Chicken and Herbed Dumplings – Fresh tarragon is essential.

Emeril Lagasse’s Bayou Chicken Pasta

Ina Garten’s Goat Cheese Lasagna with Turkey Sausage

Johnny Garlic’s Cedar Plank Salmon from Guy Fieri
